MSG Secretariat Congratulates Vanuatu Government on the launch of “Vanuatu Made” Brand

On the invitation of the Vanuatu government, the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Secretariat attended the launch of “Vanuatu Made” Brand on 25 September 2019 at Feaiwa Seafront Park in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The event was officiated by Honourable Jotham Napat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Trade, Industry and Commerce. The launch of “Vanuatu Made” programme included a float parade and trade display by small and micro-enterprises showcasing “Vanuatu Made” products such as Tanna Coffee, virgin oil, handicrafts, Aelan chocolates, jewellery, perfumes and organically grown vegetables.

The Officer in Charge, Mr. Ilan Kiloe on behalf of the Director General of the MSG Secretariat Ambassador Amena Yauvoli congratulated Vanuatu in launching the “Vanuatu Made” Brand. “The national brand certifies origin, increases competitive advantage of locally made products and advances Vanuatu’s image in local and overseas markets within MSG sub-region and beyond.

In supporting this initiative, Mr. Kiloe added that the national brand would ignite passion within people of Vanuatu, and visitors alike, to support naturally “Vanuatu Made” products. He stated that laying the foundation to develop and grow the image of national brands such as “Vanuatu Made” brand within the MSG sub-region is crucial to empower businesses to capitalize on opportunities available through the MSG Trade Agreements.

The MSG Secretariat was represented at the event by Mrs. Sovaia Marawa, Trade Policy and Investment Adviser.
